Accessibility statement
Our commitment
Boutik Studio wants boutik.pt to be easy to use for everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader or a magnifier, or prefer less motion on screen. Accessibility is part of how we design and build websites for our clients, and we hold our own site to the same standard.
Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This includes the WCAG 2.1 level AA requirements referenced by the European standard EN 301 549, which supports the European Accessibility Act.
Conformance status
boutik.pt is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not fully conform yet. The exceptions we know about are listed under Known limitations.
What we have done
- The site is built with semantic HTML, named landmarks, a logical heading structure and a skip link to the main content.
- Every link and control works with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator that is kept clear of the fixed header.
- Text and controls meet the WCAG colour contrast ratios.
- Informative images have text alternatives. Decorative images and videos are hidden from screen readers.
- Pages reflow down to 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling, and keep working with browser zoom and increased text spacing.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and videos stay still. The homepage has a Pause motion button, and every portfolio video has its own play and pause button.
- Links that open in a new tab say so.
- We do not use accessibility overlays, pop-ups or tracking cookies.
Known limitations
- Portfolio videos. The videos in our case studies are short, silent screen recordings of websites and animations we designed. They do not have an audio description or a text transcript. The text around them describes each project, and every video can be paused.
- Images of design work. Images of logos, brand guidelines, print pieces and websites contain text as part of the design. Their text alternatives describe the piece rather than every word in it.
- External content. Links to LinkedIn and to client websites lead to pages outside boutik.pt, which this statement does not cover.
How we tested
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by Boutik Studio on 3 November 2026. We ran automated tests with axe-core on every page of the site at desktop (1440 pixels) and mobile (390 pixels) widths, and checked keyboard navigation, focus visibility, reflow at 320 pixels, text spacing and reduced motion by hand.
boutik.pt is built with standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript, without page builders or plugins. It is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, and with common assistive technologies.
Training
Our accessibility work is led by João Granja, who completed the Accessible Technology Design (Advanced) course from AccessibleEU, the European Accessibility Resource Centre set up by the European Commission, in November 2026. Verify the certificate.
Feedback and contact
If something on boutik.pt is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please email info@boutik.pt. Tell us the page address and what went wrong. We aim to reply within five working days.
Accessible websites for your project
